At St Bede's Primary School, our Forest School is framed by strict safety routines and established boundaries. It enables the flexibility and freedom for child initiated learning and other innovative approaches to learning to take place, in a low risk environment. Forest School activities are linked to the National Curriculum, allowing learning to take place in a different environment to the classroom. Children will have an increased respect for the environment and develop an interest in their surroundings.
Studies on Forest School show that children benefit from the area in many ways including confidence, social skills, increased motivation and concentration, physical skills- physical stamina and the devlopment of fine and gross motor skills.
All children in school have access to the Forest School throughout the school term. We will also be having different activities after school over the academic year including After School Clubs and a Festival of Light. If you would like to have a look around our Forest School you are very welcome, please see the school office to arrange a visit.
